Wonderful homey stop on the Camino
I am walking the Camino de Santiago (Frances) with my friend. We stayed in a double room with twin beds and a private bathroom for 1 night on Oct 1. The beds and pillows were very comfortable and we had one of the best sleeps of our trip so far. It was very homey after many nights spent in shared dormitories with shared bathrooms. The section reserved for private rooms had a shared living room and kitchen with a kettle so we could brew tea - very nice, since there was a cold front and it was 6-13C and winds of 29K/hour on our walk to Atapuerca from Villafranca Montes de Oca that morning. Our host helped us to do laundry in the machine, then we hung it up to dry outside. She also recommended an excellent restaurant nearby for dinner. They have a friendly dog who loves to cuddle and hang out with pilgrims. We are animal lovers who are missing our pets so it was heavenly. I highly recommend this wonderful albergue.

Camino Frances
This albergue is just to the right as you enter Atapuerca. It’s a welcome sight. The albergue opens at 1PM and not a minute earlier so if you are an early bird you can walk over to the local tienda for a bocadillo or tortilla accompanied by a cafe com leche or cerveza if you desire.
The albergue has dorm rooms as well as habitación privadas. I haven’t seen the dorms but the privadas are very satisfactory. The cost is very reasonable as well. The owner and staff are desirous of their guests’ satisfaction so if you need help just let them know.
We have stayed here for the last two years and I’m sure that we will return again.

Habitaciones recomendables

Nice, cheap and clean.
Although named Albergue El Peregrino this is the best albergue in the village, I believe. A nice garden with a lot of grass goes with it. It calls for a drink and a chat. And it has small 4 persons room - only, I think - as well.
